Tickford returns to Australia with Ford Ranger and BILSTEIN

More power, better looks and BILSTEIN B8 shock absorbers for the popular pickup truck

Tickford last operated Down Under in 2001 before being taken over by British automotive engineering firm, Prodrive. Now, the famous brand is returning to the Australian automotive scene, offering vehicle personalisation packages on a range of models, starting with the Ford Ranger PXII. Among other options, the comprehensive design, performance and interior package includes BILSTEIN B8 gas-pressure shock absorbers, which get German Upside-Down technology to Down Under.

The Ford Ranger pickup truck is one of the highest-selling nameplates according to VFACTS figures. Tickford’s custom diesel tune, which is also compatible with the previous generation Ranger, delivers up to 15 per cent more power and up to 20 per cent more torque. As vehicle enthusiasts, Ranger customers want a truck which is fun to drive and focuses on performance, design and styling. For that reason, they have chosen the versatile BILSTEIN B8 gas-pressure shock absorbers, which go very well together with the 20-inch alloy wheels of the truck. The German-made B8 is the perfect choice if you want to add lowering or lift springs to your car as they come with different lengths. For the Ranger, Tickford offers the B8 with or without a lift kit.

“Tickford’s ride and handling package for the Ranger provides a sure-footed, safe and compliant drive which brings an improved feel for the driver on-road, yet importantly for us maintains the vehicle’s off-road capability,” Tony Harris from Tickford says. The ride and handling products are broken up into three key packages which can be fitted independent of each other: “The combination of Bilstein B8 dampers, our own 20-inch alloy wheel and Goodyear Wrangler tyres is one we are very happy with and sitting under an aggressively looking fender flare just adds to the appeal”, Mr. Harris tells us. Thus, it makes perfect sense to offer shock absorbers made in Germany for a light truck tuned in Australia.
