Protection against leaks at air suspensions!

BILSTEIN Workshop Tip

The vehicle manufacturer has stipulated specific values for various tightening torques on air suspensions and air suspension modules. These must be strictly adhered to, particularly in the case of the compressed air connections and the residual pressure valves. If these stipulations are ignored, potential consequences include destruction of the sealing ring – leaks in the air suspension system are pre-programmed.

Most vehicle manufacturers stipulate a tightening torque of 2 Nm to 5 Nm on the compressed air connections, depending on the vehicle type. But be careful: in some cases, these values are changed after initial publication. Therefore, the available data must be checked before repair to ensure that it is up-to-date.
